Gorumara National Park is a National Park in northern West Bengal, India. Located in the Terai region of the Himalayan foothills, it is a medium-sized park with grasslands and forests.

We visited Gorumara during the winter of 2012.

We camped at the Tusker’s Den Resort(http://www.tuskersden.com/) which is just opposite to the Jeep Safari counter of the park.

We decided to start our safari with a bunch of other guys we met at the resort.
So that day, our friends joined us near the jungle gate and by 3.30 we were inside the jungle in a cordon of six jeeps.

We spotted deer, bison and elephants along the way. The depth of jungle was increasing with time. We went too far. All jeeps were running at same speed rally was feeling adventurous. After driving for almost 6 kms we arrived at the Jungle View Point.

We climbed the watch tower and waited for the rhino to appear.
There was a salt point just under the tower where animals came to drink water, so we were hoping to see one.

But even after waiting for an hour, there was no sign of any rhino coming to drink.

After jungle safari we went to a local village.the villagers showed their tribal dance.In the environment of jungle It looks really beautiful.“Gorumara, the First step into Dooars”
So, after 6.00 we decided to head back to the resort.

Notes :- Gorumara ticket counter is just opposite of the Tuskers den. So try to stay at Tuskers den.
