The permission and travel card of Rangoli have been done from the Rangoli market. The voter card and photo were needed for permission and the permission charge is 500 per person. We had got our travel card in advance from the Sikkim tourism website. On the way to our destination, we visited the QueKhola Water Falls (10000 G).
The next destination was The Tibetian villa is Our homestay in Zuluk. The height of the Zuluk is 9,400 feet.
Wandering Zuluk:
After lunch, we walked around the place. At dusk, we enjoyed our tea. After the sunset, the weather became colder. We all enjoyed our tea and Pokora while shivering in the evening.
A different situation we experienced at the time of dinner. Everyone went to dinner early because of the cold weather. That was the time we feel an earthquake. The earthquake magnitude is on the Richter scale of 6.4. We were scared because of the intensity of the earthquake and came out from homestay because of fear. As soon as the situa@on was over we completed our dinner at night. The next day we woke up early in the morning and noodles were served as breakfast.
Next Day :
We started our journey towards the Thambi viewpoint, Nathan Valley, Old baba Mandir, Elephant lake. We visited one of the viewpoints which is a hairpin-like road pattern then we reached the Thambi viewpoint.
We are suggested to carry some dry fruits for the long trip it’s very helpful for the tourist. Thambi viewpoint: This is a magnificent place in the Himalayas. A breathtaking view of Kanchenjunga is visible from here. The weather was cold but the scenic beauty was worth it.
Nothing can beat the view of this place. It was looking adventurous too. All can see the zigzag roads and bends which is the main beauty of that place. In every season the view of that place has changed. Wonderful climate condition, the road is good and superb bird’s eye view. It was a Heavenly feeling.
Our next destination was Nathang Valley after the Thambi viewpoint. The first time on this tour we saw snow at the china border is next to the NAthang valley. The mountain stands as a physical boundary of the area. The altitude of the area is high so long-term staying is not good for aged people.
History: A Hindu temple and a little Buddhist Monastery in the valley on the edges of a little town, Nathang Valley has a considerable amount of history. The Battle of Nathang checks as a vital occasion towards the British addition to Tibet. Amid 1888, the British had despatched military endeavor to remove Tibetan powers from Sikkim. At around 07:00 AM on 21 May 1888, the Tibetans assaulted the British Defences at Nathang Valley. Here, at Nathang Valley, you can at present visit the memorial park of the British warriors who passed away in this fight.
Nathang is called Ladakh of East Sikkim. Nathang valley is privately known as Gnathang Valley is arranged at an eleva@on of 12,700 feet above ocean level. Nathang town is one of the remotest Tibetian residences in Eastern Himalaya.
Old Baba Mandir :
We went towards the Old baba mandir. At a distance of 60 km from the majesticGangtok city towards the legendary Nathula, you will find a road leading towards the Kupup valley up to Tukla. A bifurcated road from Tukla would connect to the Old Baba Mandir (Bunker). At this place; the tomb of Baba Harbhajan, famously known as Old Baba Mandir has been built. We could not stay for a long time because of extreme weather conditions but the beauty of the place is mesmerizing.
Elephant Lake :
Small but looks amazing Covered this on the way to Zuluk (Silk Route). This was our second stop after the Old Baba Mandir. It’s almost unspoiled by pollution or due to fewer tourists. What a great place to visit. It’s near Indo China border. The lake is amazing. The blue water of the lake is like heaven. It’s a remote place still you’ll find several tourists visiting and enjoying the place..Whether the Lake is small but looks so amazing. It is very close to Tsongmo Lake. It is on the way to Nathula Pass. When we have visited so at the time water so clear a neat and clean.
We went to our next destination was Rongli. We stayed at night on that day and the next day we were backed.
Next day Morning :
Next day morning 2 tourist spots are there to visit. 1st we visited the Hanging bridge. A perfect place for a photo shoot and to enjoy the river beneath the bridge. Beware of the rocks and try not to get into the river. Don’t forget to visit the nearby falls.
Best time to visit Rolep: One can visit Rolep any time of the year. The monsoons and pre-winter are great for the greenery and gushing waterfalls while the winters offer sparkling weather and the opportunity of angling and hot stone bath.
