If someone asks me after travelling so many places which one is the coldest, my answer will be only Bihar.
Nalanda is part of Buddhist religious circuit. It can also be visited as part of one day trip from Bodhgaya or Patna. The campus of Nalanda will beat any other college campus of India of present days. This place is with vast area. The place is well preserved by ASI and is so peaceful that one can sit hours together. Travelers may feel the pride. The structure of Nalanda
This is 90km from Buddha Gaya. The day we visited this place the weather was chilled cold. The road was foggy. When we were close to Nalanda was feeling like we are going to see the history.Very thrilling. A very huge space. From the main gate of university we entered there.
Our team was of 5 people. There in different it was written the names of the places. Nalanda was one of the oldest universities of India. I could not contain my excitement and surprise when I visited this place. 6 century AD structure.
We saw the original accommodation of students and teachers and other ruins. What an thoughtful structure of learning and provisions for staying. I was in for a big surprise. The room walls were about 5 feet wide. It was said to be to operate as air conditioners in extreme hot and cold weather of Gaya.
At Nalanda, science first met spirituality :-
Nalanda was a seat of learning in 6th century AD. It housed about 10,000 students and 2,000 teachers, from different let’s of the world. The great Aryabhatta and Chanakya are said to have been teachers here. The most account of Nalanda comes from writings of Chinese philosopher Hu en Sang.
Is still now the subject of researcher.3 important suggestions for Nalanda are to avoid hot & humid days, come with good grip walking shoes and hire a good guide. The site is ruins of the ancient university of Nalanda that had been a center of education with Global repute and had disciples from many other countries, mostly Asian. Having a guide is important to understand the history connected and the time line of its emergence and destruction by foreign rulers. it had 10k students and 2k staff. There’s very little sculpture. It is also a lovely place for photography.Overall the trip was interesting with full of joy.
Tips:-
To make the most of your trip, research Nalanda well. Not only the history but also the layout and map. Take at least a day to be in Nalanda with travel to Ruins of Nalanda University and then Museum which is adjacent to the ruins. You can also option to have a guide show you the place which can help you understand the place/history/archaeology better.
This place takes you to an Era – which was glorious. You will feel very happy to be a witness to this history which is still alive and inspiring.
