Today is our story about Dharamshala. Hope you like our previous story. Today we will tell the story of the site scene of Dharamsala. Dharamshala is a city in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Surrounded by the forests on the edge of the Himalayas, this hillside city is home to the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government.
Our journey from Dalhousie to Dharamshala, At the beginning of the journey we went to Panchpulla. The weekend trip from Dalhousie to Panchpula is most popular among tourists, who make it a point to visit Satdhara springs on their way to Panchpula. The gushing sounds of the Satdhara springs leave a mesmerizing effect on the tourists. Another popular spot in Panchpula is the memorial monument, which was built to commemorate the revolutionary Sardar Ajit Singh. There are several streams connecting this place that makes this place look more beautiful and appealing.
The word Panchpula means five bridges and it is the place where a descending stream flows and feeds several pools. Panchpula is the main stream that supplies water to cities of Dalhousie and Balloon. The stream originates from Dain Kund and falls down into a quaint abyss and then finally reaches the waterworks of Panchpula. It is also famous for many treks that originate here and leads to Dalhousie or other nearby destinations. Trekking from Panchpula to Dainkund is highly recommended in order to explore the best of natural beauty. In addition, there is a restaurant along with several tea shops dotted around Panchpula.
Our next place was Tilokpur. This temple was situated alond side of highway from pathankot to dharamshala. It has cave which is considered as lord shive used to meditate here and inside cave ricks were of gold but one shedherd want to stole that gold do it was converted by lord shiv to stone.
Famous For :
Trilokpur is a place of great religious importance. It is considered to be the childhood place of Maa Vaishno Devi. The temple of the goddess Mahamaya Bala Sundri is well known and attracts lakhs of pilgrims from all over Northern India.
History :
The temple was built by Raja Dip Parkash in 1573. Legend speaks of the devil’s “pin” (a sacred stone; regarded as a symbol of the goddess) that had appeared in a bag of salt, purchased by a local trader.
Day 2 :
At the beginning of the journey we went to Panchpulla Jawaliji temple, Jawala Ji or Jwala devi temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths of India and Jawala Ji Temple is one of the highly venerated Shakti Temples in India. It is situated in the lap of Shivalik range of Kangra valley called “Kalidhar”. This is believed to be the first ever temple built by the Pandavas. Jwala Ji is a Devi Temple Dedicated to the “GODDESS OF LIGHT”, located in Jawala Mukhi, district Kangra of Himachal Pradesh.
TIMINGS:5 AM to 8 PM
Apart from the history, what makes the Jwalaji Temple a major tourist attractions are its aartis. If you reach the temple at the precise timings, you can easily catch one of the five aartis that are held at the temple on a daily basis.s far as the architecture of the Jwalaji Temple is concerned, the structure is picturesque and is built in Indo-Sikh style. The dome is of gilt, gold and pinnacles, and possesses a beautiful folding door of silver plates, presented by the Sikh Raja Kharak Singh.
Our next place was Ma Chintapunni temple. Chintpurni is a major pilgrimage Centre and one of the Shakti Peethas in India. The Chintpurni shakti peeth (Chhinnamastika shakti peeth) is located in Una district Himachal Pradesh state, surrounded by the western Himalaya in the north and east in the smaller Shiwalik (or Shivalik) range bordering the state of Punjab.The temple dedicated to Mata Chintpurni Devi is located in Bharwai ; Amb Tehsil of District Una ; Himachal Pradesh. Mata Chintpurni Devi is also known as Mata Shri Chhinnamastika Devi.
History:
Pandit Mai Das, a Saraswat Brahman, is generally believed to have established this shrine of Mata Chintpurni Devi in Chhaproh village about 12 generations ago. Over time this place became known as Chintpurni after the eponymous deity. His descendants still live in Chintpurni and perform prayers and puja at the Chintpurni temple. These descendants are the official priests at the Temple.
Next destination was The Shree Vajreshwari Mata Mandir also known as Kangra Devi Mandir is a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Vajreshvari, a form of Durga located in the town Kangra, in Himachal Pradesh, India.
The original temple was built by the Pandavas at the time of Mahabharatha. Legend says that one day Pandavas saw Goddess Durga in their dream in which she told them that she is situated in the Nagarkot village and if they want themselves to be secure they should make a temple for her in that area otherwise they will be destroyed. That same night they made a magnificent temple for her in the Nagarkot village. This temple was looted a number of time by the Muslim invaders. Md Gaznavi looted this temple at least 5 times, in the past it used to contain tonnes of gold and many ghantas made of pure silver. In 1905 the temple was destroyed by a powerful earthquake and was subsequently rebuilt by the government.
Day 3 :
Next day First we visited Chamunda Devi temple is located in Kangra District in Himachal Pradesh. The temple is said to be older than almost 750 years, and is located on the banks of the River Baner. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, a fiercer reincarnation of Goddess Durga. Chamunda Devi Temple in Himachal is a major attraction for people from all over the country, who visit the city. There are also several other idols in the temple, including Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva and Lord Bhairava. There is a beautiful marble staircase near the main shrine, which will take devotees to the underground cave of Lord Shiva, which is an ancient and seemingly mysterious place.
History of Chamunda Devi Temple :
Shumbha and Nishumbh were two brothers who planned to cover three worlds to gain powers of immortality. For this reason they put themselves through punishments and rituals related to purification. Both the brothers travelled to God Brahma and their wishes were granted. Later both the brothers misused their powers and tried to kidnap the Devi. They were not protected from the Devi and hence were killed by her. After this incidence Devi was named Chamunda.
Chamunda Devi Temple is also popular as Chamunda Nandikeshwar Dham. The idol of Chamunda ma is draped in beautiful red saree. There are aartis held in the morning and in the evening. Devotees gather in large crowds and sing songs to praise Chamunda Devi. It is believed that around 400 years ago, a King and a Brahmin Saint prayed to Maa Chamunda asking her permission to move her idol to a more accessible location. Devi came in the dream of the saint and granted permission to relocate her idol.
This is the very popular temple in the city. The priest of the temple was known that’s why we are not getting late.

Next we visited The HPCA stadium is one of the famous stadium in Himachal Pradesh. Its height 1457 meters about the sea level. This is the highest cricket stadium in the world.There is an Entry ticket for this and they will allow you to be in one the stand. But we able to enter in this stadium, we known one person. As a cricket fan this is my 1st time to enter in dressing of the stadium. The dressing room is the decorated with the famous photographer of cricketer. The circumspect view from top of the club house is amazing. Visit this if you want to see beautiful snow-clad mountains or nicely painted pavilions.
