After We completed our Purulia trip, within 1 month we were starting our new trip towards Jhargram. it’s a good place for weekends from Kolkata. We got some information about this place before the trip. It’s a 2hr journey from Kolkata via train. We had booked our hotel before reached the place. The hotel authority sent a car for received us. we reached At 9o clock in hotel ,hurriedly completed our breakfast and went to explore the place.
Our hotel name is Eshani. We started our 1st destination to “Chilkigarh-Kanak Durga Mandir” . On the way of temple a beautiful place is there, it’s Khasiya. “Color” is the attraction of this place, without saying this, the trip is incomplete. I have been traveling a lot of place in India after that I must say the winter color beauty of Jhargram ,I have seen in a few places.

1st we visited Kanak Durga temple. Distance of Kanak Durga temple is 15 km by car, take a time 15-20 minutes. The conditions of the road is good. A Hindu Temple in the outskirts of the city of Jhargram. The temple is covered by deep forest.

Dulung river is running by the side of the Kanak Durga temple.It is a very old templeand daily open at 6 am. to 7 pm..The place is very attractive for spent leisure time..you can sea a lot of monkey in that place ..It is a favorite place for picnic .It is a famous tourist place in Jhargram. The temple is covers in the west by a dense forest,in the east by Dulung river,it flows between raj palace of Chilkigarh and Kanakdurga temple.

Histroy :
The history of Chilkigarh connected with the history of Dhalbhum.The main history of Kanakdurga temple revolved round a dream.Devi Mahamaya came in the dream and orderd king Gopinath to setup a temple for her and she also described her idol.On the next morning King Gopinath found two visitors who saw the same dream at night.It was artist Jogendranath Kamiliya who transformed the dream into reality and Bramhin Ramenhandra Sarangi.Some says that Devi Kanakdsurga is Devi Chandi, She also the goddess of Power and energy.

The main temple have a heritage of Chilikigarh beside its. Godess Durga is made up of pure Gold and is mounted on horse which is also very rare..A wonderful place to be around with friends, families and children. This place No Plastic Zone. This place contains of rare plants and maintained well by the authorities..Toilets, Parking lots and canteens are available here. The road is in jungle very beautiful between parking lot and main temple ,
We worship here. After that we spent some time on the Dunglu river.

Dunglu River Trip :
just beside Kanak Durga temple, Dunglu river is situated. After worshiping goddesses we went to visit Dunglu river and its outskirts. As we went in winter season we didn’t came across to so much water but during monsoon there is so much of water, to the other side of the river there is a jungle and one village is also situated. As per legend, Devi Chadni temple might be in nearby the jungle. Since we had less time so we didn’t went that side. Dunglu river acknowledged our presence with a mind wave in her stream. Next we moved on to our next destination.

Again started our journey towards medical hub. The name of the medical hub is “Amla Choti plant hub”. Different type of medical plant is here. Most of the plant is unknown for us. We spent some time in the area.

Our next destination was Jhargram Raj palace. It’s a 5 star luxury hotel , its became heritage hotel of this area. Without booking you can’t enter so we are not enter in the palace because of advance booking. This is a big palace so we visited next destination.

Raj bari histroy:
Jhargram Raj was founded around 1592 AD by Sarveshwar Singh who together with his brother were generals under Raja Man Singh I of Amer and came to conquer Bengal when Emperor, Bihar and Orissa to Raja Man singh. The rullers of Jhargram assumed the title “Malla Deb”. The Raja of the state was popularly known as Ugal sanda by the local natives and the appellation was continued by all kings up to Raja Narasingha Malla Ugal Sanda Deb.
Our next destination is “Jhargram Tribal Musuem”

“Jhargram Tribal Musuem”
Very small place with 2 room are there. But it’s a very important place of our tour. It’s a jhargram tribal museum. Santhal rebellion have a famous rebellion in our Indian history if you knew about it , so you would go for this place. The beautiful description of santhal rebellion through art gallery. Different type of used material by santhal also there.

The alluring ambience is being created by santhal music. The guest book of this museum located out side it. We put our review about the museum and came back to hotel.

It’s lunch time . After completing our lunch we were planned to go Jhargram mini zoo.

Jhargram Mini Zoo :

We took some rest after lunch and started new destination towards mini zoo. The zoo is 15 minutes away from our hotel by car. We were entered after collecting our tickets. Entrance of the zoo starts deer and elephant section after that bird section. Various kinds of animals can be found in nature ‘s lap.

Best attraction of Jhargram Zoo is lepard . It’s a very naughty naughty lepard, he gave different type of pose to rise high area after seeing photographer.

Other animals like black beer,crocodiles, Peacock, different types of birds, Monkey its also attraction of this zoo.
Mini zoo but variety of animals are placed there. the name of the Jhargram mini zoo is The Junglemahal Zoological Park. This is a good place for nature lovers, photographer. We were spending 1.5 hours after that back to hotel. We were feeling tired after whole day journey so we took rest for next day tour.
